A Premier League divulgou nesta quinta-feira o calendário completo da competição para a temporada 2022/23. Será a primeira vez que o calendário terá uma parada no meio da temporada, que será pela inédita Copa do Mundo em novembro e dezembro. A competição começa no dia 5 de agosto, vão até dia 12 de novembro, quando há uma parada, e os jogos são retomados no Boxing Day, dia 26 de dezembro. A liga é jogada até dia 28 de maio, data inicial da última rodada.
Era especulado que a Premier League poderia tirar os jogos das datas festivas, o Boxing Day e o Ano Novo, mas a liga manteve esses jogos, com um calendário cheio na época. Serão três rodadas de 26 de dezembro a 2 de janeiro. Considerando que alguns dos jogadores voltarão da Copa do Mundo, será de fato um desafio grande para o período, maior do que o que nos acostumamos a ver nos últimos anos.
As datas divulgadas são apenas a base, ou seja, os jogos podem ser desmembrados entre sábados e domingos e eventualmente para sextas e segundas também. O jogo que abrirá a temporada, na sexta-feira, dia 5 de agosto, será Crystal Palace x Arsenal, no Selhurst Park.
